Kim

Kim has had a passion for food her entire life. She has been involved in every aspect of the food cycle from seed to plate. As a PLAYcoach, Kim advocates playing with food and finds joy in sharing her insights from her adventures in the garden and kitchen.Kim Rush Lynch

Kim, Founder of Cultivating Health, is a Certified Nutritional Consultant through the American Association of Nutritional Consultants and a Certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Using a fun, interactive and supportive approach, Kim empowers her clients  to EAT well, PLAY everyday and LOVE themselves unconditionally.

Kim has received additional training through Marc David’s Professional Teletraining program at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. She has taken detoxification and essential oils courses through Tulsi Holistic Living.  She has a B.A. in Biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and served as the director of the Washington Youth Garden at the U.S. National Arboretum,where she was honored with the 2005 Elizabeth Abernathy Hull Award for Environmental Educators.

In 2011, Kim teamed up with Chelsea Calhoun, a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, and created PLAY which uses food and movement to show participants how to create vibrant health and fun in their busy lives. In addition to her personalized health coaching services and PLAY programs, Kim offers natural food store tours, healthy kitchen makeovers, workshops, cooking classes for adults and kids and workplace wellness programs.

Look for Kim at the Greenbelt Co-op Supermarket and Pharmacy where she educates patrons about natural foods and healthy eating through a variety of workshops and food demonstrations. She is the co-founder of the Greenbelt Farmers Market and chairs the herb study group of the Herb Society of America’s Potomac Unit.

Kim has a deep appreciation for local, seasonal foods, nutrient-dense farming practices and food energetics. When she’s not thinking about food or teaching, you can find Kim playing in her garden, biking, roller skating, Groovin’, cheering on Scare Force One or practicing yoga.
